Interest is high in the North East
Following a hugely successful production of The Full Monty, DarlingtonOS were pleased to be able to announce they had secured the rights to Jesus Christ Superstar as their April 2010 production. We knew this would draw members back into the fold but we were blown away with the amount of interest we had from prospective new members. 30 people in total contacted us in the 3 weeks following the launch of the site (which coincided with the opening night of The Full Monty), with requests to be full acting members as well as to work back stage.
We are proud to announce that we accepted a total of 18 new members to our ranks with more auditions to take place in the next couple of weeks… a sure sign that there is a huge interest in amateur theatre in the North East – with a majority of these new members being under 25 it is also brilliant to see such talented young people wanting to join an amateur theatre Society.
Following a complete re-design and re-structure of our website, we made it far easier for people to contact us – a simple online form where people could give a short outline of their performance history, dance and singing experience as well as giving their contact details – email and mobile, thus making it far easier for us to keep in touch.
We knew we had to make it easier for people to contact us. In the age of email and texting we had to offer this as a viable alternative to telephone and post… and it all seems to be working well for the North East’s premier theatre society.
