The Post Office have produced a set of stamps to celebrate the RSC’s 50th year. People featured include Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen. The images were selected by Michael Boyd, the artistic director of the RSC. The stamps are being released today (12th April 2011).
The Elgar Society has announced the extension of its on-line library of programme notes, giving musicians, researchers, teachers and concert promoters unlimited single-source access to a succinct description and background brief on over 100 individual works by Sir Edward Elgar.
I’ve just stumbled across We Fund which looks rather interesting. You pitch an idea and people pledge money. We Fund do take a commission and you need to be able to sell the idea to potential backers, but it might be worth a look. Please be aware that I haven’t used this site, nor am I involved with it, just thought I’d bring it to your attention. Perhaps you’ve had some experience with it. If so, please feel free to comment. I’d be really interested to know is this is an avenue people would look at.
Stage Talk will be the first broadcast television show to cater for the interests of local amateur theatre groups. The first show will air on Sunday 1st May at 5pm.

The great radio/wireless microphone trade in is now in full swing in readiness for the digital switchover of the UK’s television channels. You will now begin to see advertising telling you the analogue TV channels will be turned off in August 2011 and you will no longer be able to receive TV stations this way without a digital/freeview box/decoder. The microphone systems we all use in Schools and Theatre on Plays – Musicals etc have to change too as the frequency band we are using is being auctioned off by the UK government.
