The Actor Works Scholarship

by Joanna4 May 2010

Hi,

I’m currently a student at the Actor Works School in Wapping . I’d been involved in amateur groups since I was a child, but never really thought I’d have the opportunity to take it any further. Then about a year ago, I found out through another Am dram group, about the Actor Works (previously known as The Academy) and the Tim Reynolds Memorial Scholarship.  The school is set up to offer professional to people who, like me, need to be able to support themselves while they study. Next year the school will be running two courses, a vocational one year Intensive Full Time Evening and Weekend Course, and a leisure part time Evening course. The Tim Reynolds Memorial Scholarship, set up in memory of its founder, is offered to one student on each course and this year’s scholarship audition is to be held on Saturday 5th June. More information is available on the school’s website - http://www.theactorworks.co.uk/.

For me, coming to the school has been a dream come true. Not only does it offer high quality teaching, but it prides itself on the supportive and friendly environment it creates for its students. I really can’t reccomend it enough and would encourage anyone who’s ever thought about taking their hobby further to come along and give it a go.

Thanks
