Actor Wanted – Shell Seekers
The Cuffley Players are hoping to stage The Shell Seekers by Rosamund Pilcher in March but we are struggling to find a young man to play one of the roles. Can you help us?
Danus/Richard is a young man in his early 20′s (although anyone between 17 – 30 could play it). Danus is the Gardener for Penelope (the central character) and is the spitting image of Richard (Who the actor also plays) who was the lover of Penelope (Penny) in World War 2. He is quite a shy and nervous young man as Danus (introverted and withdrawn) but more adventurous as Richard (he is a Royal Marine). He is described in the play as tall, dark haired and good looking (none of which is essential).
I start rehearsals in January and we rehearse every Monday and Thursday in Cuffley, Hertfordshire. The play is on the w/b 21st March and runs from the Wednesday to the Saturday.
