Wanted – Actors for Chocolate Founders of York in Educationalvideo
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We are producing a range of audio-visual exhibits for an exciting new visitor attraction in York which celebrates the story of chocolate and confectionery in the capital of chocolate. The attraction aims to immerse people in confectionery and chocolate’s past – from the Mayans and Aztecs who fought over the food they saw as a gift from the gods through the conquistadors to York’s Merchant Adventurers who built York as a trading city on top of its Roman then Viking roots.
AV / INTERACTIVE DESCRIPTION: One of the exhibits will feature a series of filmed historical characters to tell the story of the Confectionary Founders of York.
CHARACTER 1:
| JOSEPH ROWNTREE(1836 – 1926) | Casting Age: 60 – 70’s (so is able to reflect on height of success in 1890s)Accent: Northern Yorkshire (not working class).Personality: Softer in tone than his brother, but from a similar background, Joseph is quiet and pedantically efficient with a gentle voice. |
CHARACTER 2:
| JOSEPH TERRY(1793 – 1850) | Casting Age: 50’s(died at 57)Accent: Pocklington – West of York (East Ridings) – not as well-spoken as Frank Terry but far from working class YorkshirePersonality: Chubby and effusive, Joseph is a happy and good-natured chap – big grin and thumbs in waistcoat pockets. He’s proud of what he’s achieved and of the dynasty he’s founded. |

| FILMING DATES |
One day shoot during w/c 9TH or 16thJanuary 2012 at a London or Manchester studio (TBC).Actors will be required to attend a costume fitting / rehearsal session prior to the shoot in early January. |
| FEE |
£450 buyout fee includes shoot and fee for costume fitting / rehearsal session. Local travel expenses are included within this fee, however as the location of the shoot is TBC expenses will be paid for actors if they are based in the South and need to travel to Manchester for the shoot and vice versa. |
