Actors wanted for Sitcom (no pay)

by batteryappletrees10 February 2010 2 Comments

Brand new sitcom in 6 episodes.

We’re looking for energetic, down to earth, fun actors willing to work for no pay….

Some of the main roles in the sitcom have been cast, but we are still looking for at least 5-10 more main characters (appearing in all 6 episodes).

We are also looking for up to 20 or more supporting actors (these supporting characters will appear in only one episode, though will have a significant amount of screen time, often with plenty of dialogue, and are crucial to their particular episode’s plot).

We’re ideally looking for fun, hard working, confident, creative, RELIABLE people. We welcome applications from actors of any and all experience, and also from those people with no experience, so don’t be worried if you’ve never acted in you life (except in front of your friends). The desire to do so is a good start. Whatever your experience, if you impress at audition we’ll try our best to fit you in somewhere….

Obviously being a fan of a broad range of comedies will give you also put you on good foot, but again this is not essential….we don’t expect you to be any kind of film or t.v. buff who can quote reams of life of brian …. leave that to our camera people….and the director.

It’s important to remember that this sitcom frequently roams into some very adult themes, with very strong language, so please do not get involved if you think you might be easily offended by the final product. Obviously, anyone invited to audition will be given more information on the show’s tone and content, so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not to get involved should you be offered a part.

The crew (all voluntary and unpaid) are looking to shoot in late summer 2010, rehearsals having begun in December 2009, continuing right up until shooting.

If you would like to be involved, are available for audition A.S.A.P. and think you can commit at least two month’s worth of regular days/evenings for rehearsals, with filming taking place on your scenes for no more than 2-3 days then apply now!!!
(By ”regular” we mean as OFTEN as you can to make sure you get the performance we’re all hoping for, bearing in mind you’ll be volunteering your time and bearing in mind your own independent travel capabilities…..and bearing in mind we reserve the option to withdraw any role offered if we feel an actor is being a lazy bones….)

FILMING June/July/August 2010
Location: Peterborough, United Kingdom
Payment details: no pay … but whilst we rehearse and film we’ll give you all the tea you can eat…..
