Auditions – Murdered to Death
Ruislip Dramatic Society will be holding open auditions for this spoof whodunnit by Peter Gordon, to be performed at the Compass Theatre, Ickenham from the 19th-22nd May.
About the play…
Murdered to Death is the first and most successful play of Gordon’s “Inspector Pratt” Trilogy, and has been performed worldwide in over 600 productions. Set in a country manor house in the 1930s, Gordon’s play is a hilarious spoof of the Agatha Christie genre with all the traditional character stereotypes beautifully portrayed to the delight of the audience. There’s Miss “Maple” who is of course rather good at detective work, an English Colonel with the pre-requisite stiff upper lip as well as a shady French art dealer and his moll. But that’s not to mention Inspector Pratt, England’s answer to Inspector Clouseau who struggles valiantly to solve the murder of the house’s owner in spite of his complete incompetence.
