DarlingtonOS launch new site

by backstagepass 19 October 2009

DarlingtonOS have long been the leading North East theatre society, producing quality musical theatre for over 60 years. They are now raising their public profile with the launch of an all-new website.

Julian Cound, marketing manager, has been leading the re-design project over the last 4 months. He said: “As well as giving the website a clearer and more modern design, we wanted to make it more user friendly – which meant completely overhauling the site structure.”

“Popular sections such as how to book tickets have been given far more prominence, while an entirely new gallery area has been incorporated to showcase images of past productions.”

“We have also added more ways to contact the society in the shape of on-line forms as well as giving more information about the annual donations we make to local charities which is an important side of the Society that is often overlooked.”

“An e-newsletter has been created to keep audiences up to speed with news from the society including future show choices and special ticket offers. People can sign up for this newsletter quickly and simply on-line.”

Society Chairman Ian Whitfield added: “The growing importance of e-communication means that it is essential for us to have a cutting edge website. The clear and dynamic image presented by the site supports and demonstrates the way we want to engage with our audiences in the future.”

Updates to the site will be instantaneous with the new site having it’s own built in Content Management System. Julian added “The CMS will allow us to update the site quickly and easily ensuring information is always fresh and relevant. We also hope to bring online ticket purchasing to the site in the near future. The Society is going through a huge change in terms of its marketing and this new site will be the main shop window for DarlingtonOS.”
