2010 EUROPEAN THEATRE SUMMER SCHOOL
AT CLAIREFONTAINE

This year’s theme is:

LEGEND HAS IT THAT IT’S ALL A MYTH

The 23rd European Theatre Summer School will take place this year from Saturday 24th July to Sunday 1st August inclusive, once again at the Centre d’Accueil Clairefontaine, our home on the border between Luxembourg and Belgium. Here we shall continue to pursue our ideals of nourishment, nurture and enrichment.

This year’s Course Director will again be Graeme Du Fresne, supported by Janice Dunn, Lawrence Evans and Peta Lily, all three of whom are well known to Summer School and are highly accomplished and experienced theatre practitioners. Janice is a director, writer and teacher; Lawrence a director and teacher; and Peta a performer, writer, director and teacher. This year’s theme, LEGEND HAS IT THAT IT’S ALL A MYTH will explore theatre and drama’s long standing interest, inspiration and intrigue with Mythology. From the supernatural and religious mythology of Greece and Rome; to the ritual and magic of International Folklore to modern re workings of traditional stories and characters to contemporary urban myths, theatre has a rich and varied history of involvement with mythology. The early planning stages for this year’s course are well under way and many of you may also be into your own early planning stages for the summer. We will shortly be sending out a call for applications with details of the tutors and courses, but you are more than welcome to let us know straight away if you are intending to participate. We shall put your name down on a priority list.

The fees will remain unchanged at 750 € for residential students, 550 € for day students and 275 € for a scholarship. The supplement for a single room is 80 €.

More general information about Summer School can be found on our website at www.munsbach.org.

We certainly hope that you can come and join us at Clairefontaine and look forward to hearing from you.
