Gold Dust magazine: Competition for Playwrights

The finalists will receive a public performance, and the winner will be awarded a £100 prize and publication in Issue 21 of Gold Dust magazine.

* The Gold Dust team will choose their favourite plays from all submissions to be finalists.
* The finalist plays, which should be around 15 minutes long, will be performed by actors at a special Gold Dust event, ‘Gold Dust Speaks’, from 7pm-10.45pm on 14th July 2012 at The London Theatre in New Cross (100 yards from New Cross tube & BR), followed by the award of the prize. Tickets to ‘Gold Dust Speaks’ cost £3 and can be purchased on the door.

Vishni Velada-Billson, theatre director & arts educator
Vishni has worked, among others, at the Unicorn theatre, Central School of Speach & Drama, Clean Break theatre, Oval House Theatre, Kazzum Theatre, Lyric Theatre, and Half Moon Young People’s Theatre

Emily Nightingale, playwright & arts educator
Emily has worked, among others, at Half Moon Young People’s Theatre and Oval House Theatre

* Entries will be judged on the script, not on the performance. If you wish, as an alternative, you may perform your script yourself, or with your own actors. Any props or costumes must be provided by yourself.
* Entry is free of charge, and scripts should be submitted electronically to sirat [at] davidgardiner [dot] net to arrive before midnight on 31 May 2012.
