Profile for the role of ALFRED WILLIAMS – The Hammerman

This role is pivotal to the production and requires someone of singing and acting stamina, who has the stage presence and charisma to hold the audience’s attention. Alfred is on stage for most of the production and will age from 20- 55. Therefore I am looking for a baritone/tenor of around 30 years of age. He needs to be around 5’9 to 6’, of medium build, brown hair. Vocal range ALFRED IS : 2ND F below MC to E above MC The music is a mix of pop and folk styles, and this is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a unique production to be performed at STEAM on 12/13th November 2010.

The Hammerman is an original which tells the life of Swindon writer, folk historian, and hammerman Alfred Williams. It is a project that has been a long time in the making and, thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, is becoming reality. Music is written by local singer-songwriter John Cullimore. Libretto is by John Moorehouse. It will be directed by Linda Worth.

The play will be performed on November 12th and 13th 2010 in the Great Hall at the STEAM Museum in Swindon.
