The Youth of East Anglia Make Their Voices Heard!

Join The Norwich Voice In A Million Academy Makes A Difference…

The Voice In A Million project is delighted to announce the opening of East Anglia’s very own Voice In A Million Academy in Norwich, run by local West End producer and performer Tony Story, who has an already established reputation in the community and beyond as an active ambassador for mentoring young talent.

Launching on 8th May 2011, the Norwich Academy will appeal to young vocalists of all abilities from East Anglia (between the ages of 7 and 18) and provide them with the opportunity to join a unique performance organization that has opened academies across the UK and develop their skills in Vocal, Recording and Live Performance techniques.

The new Norwich Academy provide young people with the chance to become part of the phenomenon that’s sweeping the country and have already been invited to feature in high profile concerts and special events, from local venues to world class arena’s such as The o2 and Wembley!

In February 2011, Tony Story took a choir made up of East Anglian singers to the o2 Arena in London, to perform as part of the ‘Voice in a Million’ concert designed to raise awareness of the plight of children orphaned, abandoned or separated from their birth parents and in need of foster care or adoption.

“When I returned from the o2 having taken part in a magical event featuring a choir of over 7,500, I was both moved and inspired by the reaction from the teenage choir members I had taken. They were totally in awe of the experience they had been a part of.  The VIAM team mirrored the kind of professionalism I have always aspired to, and they really do set the standard for large scale choir concertsâ€, says Tony Story.

The Voice in a Million organizers have already invited Tony to begin preparing the Academy to take centre stage at several forthcoming concerts including; Wembley Arena (25th Feb 2012), Birmingham LG Arena (28th April 2012) in addition to an awe-inspiring musical, featuring each local Academy as part of a regional Christmas Tour called ‘The Orphan’s Christmas Wish’, presented across theatres in the UK.

Tony adds, “I believe East Anglia has a lot of talent to offer, and during my 15 years in tutoring and production, I have been proud to see local youngsters gaining more and more recognition. With the opportunity to perform in large scale concerts and quality local venues and events, a Norfolk based VIAM Academy project will help to serve the area with genuine opportunities for recognition of talent and provide a professional platform for training and development. Being East Anglian born and bred, I am delighted the VIAM team invited me to be part of their team and look forward to putting the talents of youngsters of Norfolk onto the national map”.

Weekly sessions held at Hewitt School, Cecil Road, NR1 2PL between 10.30am to 1.30pm are open to both boys and girls regardless of experience.  Academy fees are only £10 per 3 hour session. There are no auditions required.  Simply come along, enjoy a free trial session, meet the team and experience the magic.
