Panto Writer on Cold Turkey seeks help……………..

by martingore23 January 2012 2 Comments

Hi,

Yes I know you’ve only just finished your pantomime, but for me the cold dark months are when I write my Pantomimes. Alas this year I have stood down from my present group after three years to let someone else have a go. The thing is……….. I miss it……..

Does anyone want a bespoke panto writing for their group for next winter? Tailored to your cast and your location? Examples of my work are on the website, www.spookytree.co.uk . Unlike some writers I include suggested songs and rewords too! I don’t charge either……… if you want to make a donation to my favourite charity well thats a bonus!

Please help me with my rehabilitiation……………

Some three years ago I was invited to write the village pantomime to the long established Walkington Pantomime Players. After three successful shows I have just completed my first play, a romantic comedy "The Road to Cromer Pier" which has been well reviewed by Hull Truck Theatre. I have also written a second play, "Pen Pals" under the Hull Truck Playwrite project. I am now looking for people to perform my work. I do not seek royalties at this stage; just the pleasure of seeing my work performed. Please contact me if you are interested.

Hi Rostra, I might just be working on something which would do the
trick. It is written as a play, but is a comedy. I have written 12
pages of dialogue as a sort of concept “does this work” and think
that it does. I have realised that unlike pantos numbers are
crucial in plays, and intend to keep this down to 6 to 8 maximum.
If you advise how many people you have, and their age and sex
profile I can see if I can write it to fit. My existing self
imposed target is a first complete draft by end of March. Do you
expect to stand in front of a live audience Archers style and sell
tickets accordingly, or are we talking actual radio? What length do
you have in mind? I’d be glad to see what I can do…………

Hi Martin, We are a tiny Am Dram Society based in Lanzarote, Canary
Islands, and this year are struggling to find enough folk able to
commit to rehearsal time to put on a show. I am therefore looking
for a script or scripts which could be performed as Radio Plays -
i.e. the cast stand in front of microphones and read from their
scripts just like The Archers do. As the script needs to be funny I
thought you sounded like a likely source of material – inspiration
    even. Can you help?
