Groups Wanted – Community Theatre Festival 2012
We would like to invite you to apply for our Community Theatre Festival, taking place in January 2012.It is a one-week, short-play competition for twelve amateur theatre groups performing on the main-stage of the Rose Theatre. We’re looking for exciting, dynamic, challenging and entertaining pieces that will help make this an event we can repeat year after year.There is a participation fee of £250 for each group, which will go towards marketing and technical support.There will be an awards ceremony on Tuesday 17 January, to which all participants are invited.

KEY DATES
- We need to receive your application by Fri 30 Sep, 5pm
- We will let you know the result of your application by Fri 14 Oct, 5pm
- If accepted, we will need your participation fee and performance agreement by Fri 21 Oct, 5pm. Your fee will go towards professional technical support for lighting and sound, a brochure entry, e-flyer, posters and printed flyers.
- We want to give plenty of opportunity to tweak that all important blurb and get your brochure image just right, but our final marketing deadline, for all material, is Fri 4 Nov, 5pm.
- There will be a stage manager meeting, a chance to look at the stage and ask technical questions, on Mon 21 Nov, 5-6pm
- Rehearsals will take place Mon 9 Jan – Sun 15 Jan. Each participating group will be given 2 hours to rehearse on stage. Performance evenings will be 12, 13, 14 and 15 Jan. Each evening will be a triptych of plays. We will programme the festival so that pieces complement each other to make the performance evenings as entertaining and enjoyable as possible.
- Please bear in mind that although we will try and schedule your rehearsal time for an evening slot, you might have to work during the day on 12, 13, 14 and 15 Jan.
