I grew up with the most unusual parents. Reg and Dorothy Calvert. When my father first heard 'Rock Around The Clock' he decided he wanted to bring Rock & Roll to England and he formed new groups and organised the first 'real' entertainment for teenagers in this country. They bought Clifton Hall near Rugby which became known as the 'School of Rock n' Roll' and he went on to own his own pirate radio station and came to a tragic end. As an artist and author, I decided to write about their extraordinary lives and developed their story into a stageplay. Has recently been performed and the audience came out 'buzzing'.
