TV Programme Seeking Participants
31 August 2011
Current TV are looking for people to appear in a television programme. We need smart, insightful people to help us explore shari’a law in the UK. Currently shari’a courts are handling Islamic divorces and disputes across the country. We will be recreating a shari’a court in our TV studio and inviting non-Muslims who have either been through or are seeking a divorce to help us explore the similarities and differences between the Islamic approach and the secular process.
The show would follow the participant as they engage in a single, short hearing with a panal of Muslim scholars and then share their views and opinions on the proceedings. We will be filming mid-September to air in the UK late October, and the US later in the year.
If you or someone you know has experience of the divorce process and would be interested in exploring another culture’s approach, we would love to hear from you. We will be finalising participants Friday 2nd September, so please get in touch as soon as you can if you think you might be interested in taking part. For more info, email Rebecca Stewart at rstewart [at] current [dot] com and please feel free to forward this message to anyone who might be interested.
