Uniforms from War Movie History Available at the Angels Uniform Sale
Following the huge success of Angels’ first public sale in 2008, the Oscar-winning, world-famous costume supplier is opening its doors once again, this time to sell over 250,000 high-quality items of authentic uniform and equipment dating from 1900 onwards.
The Angels Uniform Sale will take place at 3 Boundary Road, Wembley, HA9 7ND on Saturday 28th November 2009, featuring authentic uniforms, helmets, headgear, leather and webbing equipment from a range of famous war films including Saving Private Ryan and The Great Escape. This impressive sale, the largest and most diverse of its kind, provides a one-off opportunity for collectors, re-enactors, theatre groups, fancy dress enthusiasts, Airsoft fans and fashionistas to get their hands on a huge variety of original uniforms at incredibly low prices.
How The Angels Uniform Sale Will Work
The items for sale will be displayed over three large rooms, covering over 30,000 square feet, with uniforms hanging in two rooms and the third room being devoted to all manner of equipment, hats, and helmets, which will be on display in boxes. Everything in the sale is authentic, with the exception of a few reproduction pieces that will be available and were created for specific films. All of the pieces have been used on film or television productions, including Dad’s Army, Saving Private Ryan, The Great Escape and Band of Brothers, providing an added element of interest to potential buyers.
There will be an admission charge of £5 per person, and items for sale will be charged at a fixed rate per item:
*£20 each for all coats, tunics or blouson jackets
*£20 each for helmets
*£10 each for trousers or breeches
*£10 each for caps
*£5 each for small pieces of equipment
*£10 each for medium pieces of equipment
*£20 for a combined set of equipment

Angels – Background
Angels is the world’s longest-established supplier of costumes to the film, theatre, and television industries. Chairman Tim Angel OBE (Former Chairman, BAFTA; Former Governor, BFI) is the fifth generation of his family to head the firm that bears his name, founded by his great-great grandfather Morris Angel in 1840 as the first source of costume hire for actors attending West End auditions.
Since 1948, when costumes supplied by Angels received a Best Costume Academy Award for Laurence Olivier’s Hamlet, Angels has followed suit by supplying costumes to 30 other Best Costume Oscar-winning films including Henry V, Star Wars, Titanic, Gladiator, Marie Antoinette, Elizabeth: The Golden Age and this year’s The Duchess.
Angels undertakes over 1000 TV, film and theatre projects a year, and has a staff of over 100. Outside of the film industry, Angels is best known to the general public for being the UK’s largest supplier of fancy dress from the Angels Fancy Dress flagship store on Shaftesbury Avenue (the site of Morris Angel’s original shop in the 19th Century).

There is no footwear on sale at this event
To avoid confusion and embarrassment, strictly no uniform clothing to be worn to the sale
No personal bags permitted in the sale building
Note that there are no toilet or refreshment facilities within the building
