Veteran entertainer wanted for BBC pilot
We are developing a new idea for BBC3 and hoped that you may be able to help. The format would see old fashioned entertainers with a wealth of experience mentoring up and coming talent and I wondered if there was anyone in your group that may fit the bill? The programme is essentially about old school entertainment values and great personalities who still have a desire to perform and showcase their talent.
Ideally I would like to find one man and one woman who have had experience in show business and entertainment but perhaps did not fulfil their full potential. Singing, dancing, music hall type experience would be great, however our mentors should have had a small amount of experience performing in pubs and clubs as well . The ideal candidate would be active, mobile, charismatic, have old school entertainment principles and aged about 60-80. They would then work with young performers over a period of time, teaching them the do’s and don’t of the trade, and telling their story along the way.
I must emphasize that the programme is just an idea at the moment, however if there were anyone interested in simply coming to have a chat about their lives on camera I would be love to hear from them . We are based in Kentish Town, however we can travel / pay expenses within the London area. Time is not on my side and ideally we would like to get potential contributors on camera in the next few weeks.
Appreciate that this is very short notice, however I would be delighted to speak to any members who may be interested. Would it be possible to pass this request on to any London based characters that you may know of?
