Wanted – Cockney Toy Boy
Carlton Dramatic Society (Wimbledon) is producing “After the Dance” by Terence Rattigan, directed by Tyler Pierreson, at the New Wimbledon Studio April 13-17th 2010.
We still need to fill the role of Cyril, a lower-class play ‘thing’, that is introduced to the lives of high society but is treated as a pet rather than an equal. It is a small role but requires a good Cockney accent.
“After the Dance” is Terence Rattigan’s exquisite dark comedy on love, nostalgia, greed and facade. Meet the young, not-so-bright things of the roaring 1920’s, whose drunken escapades were chronicled by Evelyn Waugh, in his outrageously funny novels.
The Carlton is Wimbledon’s longest established amateur dramatic society, n the true tradition of amateur theatre and we actively encourage you to join in whatever your background – no previous acting experience is necessary, and members come from all walks of life.
Interested parties can contact the Producer Louise Blackman on lbminx[at]yahoo[dot]co[dot]uk or the committee on committee[at]carltondramaticsociety[dot]org.
