ABOUT IMPACT
Impact is a hugely creative and contemporary theatre company, founded by actress Amanda Noar and now in its 13th year. From humble beginnings with just a handful of locals, Impact has now evolved into a thriving and highly successful theatre company. Cast members are from all over North London, from various cultural backgrounds and of all age groups.
The company based in Finchley, North London is essentially made up of amateurs, drama students and “resting pro’s”. Impact prides itself on being a community orientated group and never turning anyone away, providing they are enthusiastic and willing to have a go.
Each year Impact puts together a number of activities, theatrical workshops, reviews, play readings and various fundraisers for both adults and children. The year always culminates in a major musical show. Not only well known favourites such as “Oliver” and “Little Shop of Horrors” but also the lesser known avant-garde musical that gives audiences a taste of something unusual.
Impact now has a dedicated group of performers numbering between 40-60 and also a very loyal following in the community, that has resulted in sell out performances for all our shows.
Each year Impact stages a musical the profits from which are donated to charity. We are anxious to stress that our main aim is to provide an opportunity for enthusiastic people of all ages and abilities to develop their interests in all aspects of the theatre while at the same time raising money for worthwhile charities. To date we have raised over £100,000 for good causes including:
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, War Child, Cancer Care, Sargent Cancer Care for Children, Breast Cancer Unit – Northwick Park Hospital, Rett Syndrome Association, Karen Morris Memorial Trust, Haemappeal, Royal Free Hospital, Richard House Children’s Hospice, Variety Club of Great Britain – Sunshine Coaches, Fight for Life, Cystic Fibrosis, Wizo – Aviv, Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy, Look Good…Feel Better UK., Treehouse Charity for Autism Education, The Alzheimers Society.
Impact’s patron, Neil Morrissey, is much more than just a name at the top of our headed paper. Not only does he donate his time for fundraising events, he often attends rehearsals offering encouragement and professional advice. Even at the performances, you can sometimes catch him shaking a charity bucket or trying to charm you into buying raffle tickets.
Impact’s reputation has grown dramatically over recent years, earning television coverage on shows such as “London Tonight” and “This Morning” as well as featuring in many articles in local and National press.
Impact are London winners of the The 2010 National Operatic and Dramatic Association Flame Award for “Inspiration Contribution to the Pursuit of Excellence in Theatre.
If any further information about you want IMPACT and its activities, please do not hesitate to contact Amanda Noar.
