In January 1941, whilst ferrying an aircraft as part of the war effort, Britain’s foremost woman aviator disappeared in unresolved circumstances.  Born in Hull, the daughter of a local fish merchant, Amy Johnson went on to become internationally famous as a pioneer and promoter of global air travel in the 1930s.  Her marriage to fellow pilot Jim Mollison, her lifelong friendship with Winifred Irving, her association with aircraft engineer Jack Humphries and the events leading up to her mysterious death are vividly portrayed in this well-crafted piece of theatre. 2010 will be the 80th anniversary since her solo flight from England to Port Darwin in Australia.
