• Notes: We take you back to 4th July, 1990, Italy, and England’s preparations for their most important football game since 1966. In Majorca, Bill and Monica are trying to rekindle their troubled marriage. Monica dreams of an affair with Gary Lineker, though she has been seeing Dan, a friend of Bill’s. Dan turns up unexpectedly, and they settle down to watch the game on TV with a local German tourist rep. Through ninety minutes, extra time and the infamous penalty shoot-out, the field of battle switches between the hotel and the football pitch as Monica, Bill and the England team approach the inevitable.
