- Notes: A thought-provoking play juxtaposing the last few days of the year 1799 (the eve of a new century when the house buzzes with scientific experiments) with the end of the year 1999.In 1799, at the end of the Age of Enlightenment, scientists and body snatchers, with a pair of hopeless amateur thespians, participate in a series of ground-breaking experiments and a furtive romance.Then 200 years later, in a world of scientific chaos, cloning and genetic engineering, the cellar of the same house reveals a deep, dark secret.Featuring fictional interplay between local historical figures Armstrong and Roget (of thesaurus fame), the play switches between telling the stories of two families occupying the same house 200 years apart.
