- Notes: The Beck Theatre Summer Youth Project has become something of a local tradition. Every August talented young people from the area take part in creating a spectacular musical in just two weeks with rehearsals taking place in every available space and lasting long into the night before final performances on from Thursday 19th – Saturday 21st August at 7.30pm, with additional 2.30 matinees on Friday and Saturday.SYP always aims to outshine everyone’s expectations and this year’s production will be no exception, guaranteeing enthusiastic, high-energy performances from our talented young cast. The cast of over 100 will transport the audience to the Old Wild West in ‘Annie Get Your Gun’, a show filled with lively song and whip cracking dance routines. Annie Oakley is an illiterate hillbilly with a knack for shooting guns. Persuaded to join Buffalo Bill’s travelling Wild West Show, she soon falls hopelessly in love with Frank Butler, the show’s featured shooting ace. But when Annie eclipses Frank as the show’s main attraction, she realises she will have to make some hard choices if she wants to win the man she loves.
