Argyll Drama Festival
- Apr 21st 2010 7:15 pm to Apr 23rd 2010 7:15 pm
The 62nd Argyll Drama Festival takes place in the Public Hall, Ardrishaig, the village two miles from Lochgilphead, from Tuesday 21 April to Friday 23 April 2010 with ten one-act plays entered by Drama Clubs from Campbeltown to Oban in Argyll and one very welcome entrant from Shiskine in nearby Arran. With curtain up at 7.15pm each evening, there will be three plays on the Wednesday and Friday and four on the Thursday each evening having a varied programme of comedy and drama.
The Adjudicator will be Lynda Henderson, from nearby Furnace, well known and respected in the professional drama world and recently the founder of the highly successful and informative Forargyll website. Every evening, she will give a public adjudication of each play and later meet privately with the teams. On the Friday, she will also decide who has won the various trophies.
Eight of the teams have entertained at the Argyll Drama Festival many times, enhancing their reputations each year; and two recent newcomers are our very welcome island teams from Tobermory and Shiskine both of whom set the Festival alight last year.
This year’s exciting programme, performed by these highly talented clubs, is sure to be another resounding success.
