Auditions – Children of Eden
- Jun 13th 2010 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Swanbank Music is holding auditions for all roles in Children of Eden on Sunday, 13th June from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in Putney. The first meeting to learn more about the show, meet the production team, meet company members and to collect audition materials is on Tuesday, 1st June at 7:30 PM. Show week is 10th – 14th November 2010 at Putney Arts Theatre. We rehearse on Tuesday and Friday evenings with Sunday afternoon rehearsals in October.
Children Of Eden is loosely based on the story of Genesis. “It is a frank, heartfelt and often humorous examination of the age old conflict between parents and children.” Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin, as well as films like Pocahontas and Enchanted) composed music and lyrics. John Caird (Les Miserables) wrote the book. This show has something for everyone and needs a diverse cast from children to adults+. There are twelve principal roles that can be increased to 17 (some roles can be doubled or not.) The chorus is absolutely vital and acts much like a Greek chorus in forwarding the action. They are called Storytellers and that is exactly what they do. Children/dancers/chorus members will play animals as well. The roles range from the Snake to God!
