Alongside the unveiling of a full size bronze statue of Captain Mainwaring on 19th June 2010, a stage play is to be produced by the aptly named WOSP’s (Walmington-on-Sea Players) who are looking for actors and behind the scenes staff to make the project a community event and produce another little piece of Dad’s Army history. So whether you fancy yourself as Captain Mainwaring, Jonesy, Pike or any other of the characters from this well known show or maybe you would prefer to be involved in the staging, lighting, PR, marketing or you just fancy helping out by making the tea you will be more than welcome. Director of the stage project is Ian Gower who first adapted ‘Dad’s Army’ to the stage in April 2002 and is no stranger to British Sit Coms.
An open meeting to find out more and meet some of the team for this exciting project will be held at the Carnegie Rooms, Thetford on Saturday 3rd October from 10am – 2pm and all are welcome.

The project is being co-ordinated by Corinne Fulford of the Dad’s Army Museum and if you would like to find out more she can be reached on 07802 701911 or alternatively you can email her at dadsarmythetford [at] googlemail [dot] com.
