Auditions – Filumena
“Filumena”, a raucous Italian comedy set in Naples will be our next production, to be staged from the 15th to the 18th of December at the theatre, Battersea Park School, Battersea Park Road, SW11.
A very strong character, after 25 years as his downtrodden mistress and housekeeper Filumena turns the table on her unreliable lover Domenico. Filumena, apparently seriously ill, begs Domenico to marry her before she dies. Domenico agrees, but once they are pronounced man and wife she suddenly recovers – and reveals that, unknown to him, she has three grown-up sons. Is one of them his?
We are looking for 3 men, aged between 20 and 30, to play the sons and 1 woman, aged between 18 and 25, to play Lucia the maid.
Reharsals will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8.00pm at:
St Michael’s Church Hall, Cobham Close, off Bolingbroke Road, SW11 6SP
The script is available from Samuel French.
