Mrs. Kay’s ‘Progress Class’ are granted a coach trip from their inner city Liverpool Comprehensive School to Conwy Castle in North Wales. For many of the children, it is their first time out of the city, and are looking forward to a day away from the rules and regulations of school, until, the authoritarian deputy headmaster, Mr. Briggs, joins to supervise the excursion at the last minute.

Commissioned by the BBC in 1977, and first performed on stage in 1983, Willy Russell’s play promises to be a fun filled journey of rebellious teenagers, over-burdened teachers and the unsuspecting characters they all meet on their big day out.

Southside player Sunday November 1  at 2pm. (this is an adult production NO children)
