Auditions – Return to the Forbidden Planet
- Apr 11th 2010 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Sunday 11th April at 11am at Pirbright Village Hall.
SIMPLEtheatre are planning a journey into the unknown as they Return to the Forbidden Planet with their next production. This is a juke-box musical written by Bob Carlton based (very loosely) on The Tempest and so this out-of-this-world show boasts some fantastic songs from the 1950s and 1960s including Great Balls of Fire, Good Vibrations, Teenager in Love, Young Ones and many, many more. The show will be directed by Alison Hough, backed by a professional band and also be presented with a complete audio-visual experience of all the events in space and presented at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre in Woking from September 23rd-25th.
SIMPLEtheatre are looking for actors, singers and dancers, both male and female to take part in the show. Do you fancy playing the comic book hero Captain Tempest, the youthful and innocent Miranda, the evil scientist Dr Prospero, the mysterious scientific officer Gloria, (What are the secrets of her past?) the unloved and unpopular ship’s cook, Cookie or even Ariel the robot (on rollerskates) or a member of Scientific Space Flight 9’s Damage Control Crew?
If you’d prefer not to appear on stage, we always welcome help in all aspects of the production, stage crew, technical, costumes anything really so do get in touch if you’d like to get involved in anyway at all or just come along to the auditions and let us know.
Contact Alison Hough on thehoughfamily [at] hotmail [dot] com or 01483 472084 for more details.
