Open auditions and pre audition workshops are being held at The Conservative Club, Constitution Walk, Gloucester.

June 26th Adults Dance Workshop 7:30pm

June 28th Children Under 16’s Dance Workshop 10:00am

July 3rd Scrooge Music Sing Through – All Ages 7:30pm

July 5th Scrooge Workshop 10:00am

July 12th Children Under 16’s Auditions 10:00am

July 12th Adults Auditions 2:00pm

There are many parts to cast for all ages including;

About the Author

The G.O.D.S was founded in 1914 as the Gloucester Amateur Operatic Society and for the first twenty one years of its existence it performed one Operetta each year (usually a Gilbert and Sullivan) at various theatres throughout the city. The society presented its first straight play in 1936 when it dropped the word ‘Amateur’ and added ‘Dramatic’ to its title. Activities were suspended during the Second World War although several members who were in reserved occupations continued to perform concerts for the troops and for factory workers. The society is now fast approaching its 100 year anniversary and what a bright future is ahead. We have secured a new home at the Conservative Club in the city centre where there is ample rehearsal space and access to the members bar to enable the society to meet, socialise and plan forthcoming events. We are looking forward to a bright new future and new members are always welcome. We hope that you join us in this new and exciting chapter in the history of the Gloucester Operatic and Dramatic Society.
