2009 sees the Twentieth Anniversary of Guildburys summer show in the lovely grounds of Farnham Castle, with the castle keep as a magnificent backdrop. The company and the event has built a loyal following and performs to sell out audiences who picnic and enjoy the special ambience of theatre al fresco. In celebratory mood we will be presenting one of the Bard’s best loved comedies, The Comedy of Errors, a madcap romp of multiple mistaking and misadventures where two plus two equals much more than four !
Take estranged twin brothers and estranged twin servants, keep them in ignorance of each other and throw them into a city with a reputation for sorcery and you have the chief ingredients for theatrical chaos. A hectic tale of hilarious cross-purposes, manic slapstick and social nightmare.
As a company we aim for the highest standards, but we are a very friendly bunch and the summer show is one of the highlights of our performing year !
