Yarm Border Players are presenting Billy Liar, the well known play by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, from the 19th to the 22nd of May 2010 at 7.30 pm in Yarm and District Social Centre.

Billy Fisher, a teenager in a North Country town, weaves a world of his own out of his day dreams. He is an incurable liar, idle and dishonest, and to escape from his dull job as an undertaker’s clerk and his dreary domestic background he imagines himself in so many different situations that truth and fiction become hopelessly intermingled.

Billy Liar is best known as the 1963 film which starred Tom Courtney as Billy with Helen Fraser, Gwendolyn Watts and Julie Christie as his three girlfriends.
