Witham Dramatic Club are presenting Dennis Potter’s celebrated , Blue Remembered Hills, at the Public Hall, Collingwood Road, Witham from the 17th to the 20th June.

It is the summer of 1943 and a group of seven-year-old children (all portrayed by adults) are playing in the woods and fields near their homes. The war impinges little on the children, other than as another element to their play in the seemingly idyllic countryside. The group of five boys and two girls talk about comics and jam jars and play at being cowboys, ‘parachuters’ and a particularly funny version of ‘mummies and daddies’. But, as is so often the case with children, there is cruelty in their play; cruelty that will ultimately lead to a frightening conclusion and leave the group with a terrible secret.

Tickets are £6 (£5 for concessions Wednesday and Thursday) and are available by phone on 01621 892404 or by email from tickets [at] withamdramatic [dot] co [dot] uk. For more information visit www.withamdramatic.co.uk
