Extra Information
- Notes: Nottingham resident Gareth Peter Dicks has created a new musical for the stage. Bluebird, a WW2 love story, will go on a mini tour and will visit The Sandfield Theatre in Nottingham on Saturday, November 29.Bluebird is a dramatic and passionate one act musical that promises to pack a punch. Although only 90 minutes in length, this theatrical telling of life in war torn Britain strikes a familiar chord with today. The story, set in 1940s London, is about normal people, changed and affected by events out of their control. Bluebird’s heartbreaking story, spans the whole six years of the war, and tells of a young nurse, Roberta Jones, as she sees her husband called up to fight and her daughter evacuated to the country.Bluebird is a dramatic musical telling of normal people separated by war. Told through music, word and film, it is sure to touch the heart of anyone who has ever been in love.Bluebird flies to the stage after six months of preparation and a workshop performance, in the capable hands of Broadway School of Performing Arts, whose last musical, A Million Grains of sand, received tremendously positive reviews. The show is being performed by Broadway School of Performing Arts which is based in Northamptonshire. Its Artistic Director is the musical’s composer Gareth Peter Dicks. He travels from his Nottingham home to Northamptonshire each weekend to run the school.Gareth Peter Dicks’ previous credits include; Escape, the musical and A Million Grains of Sand, both albums available in Dress Circle, London.
