- Notes: When impressionable Phil announces to his long suffering friend George that he has fallen for a girl on the top of a 49 bus, George is not surprised, Phil makes a habit of affairs such as this and they usually blow over. But he is surprised when he finds out that Phil intends to divorce his wife Maggie and go to live with his new girlfriend Julie in the house next door!!! George finds himself being persuaded to lend a helping hand, thus setting in motion the most frenetic confusion of mistaken identities, plotting and counterplotting that ever erupted on a quiet summer’s day in the suburbs. To add to the problems, battleaxe cleaning lady Mrs Puffet keeps leaving the front door open and all sorts of people are wandering in and getting caught up in the confusion. What has all this to do with a Fireman, why is Greta so angry and just who is Alan looking for?
