• Notes: Alan Ayckbourn’s wonderful comedy is set in a TV studio of the “foreseeable future when everything has changed except human nature” and actoids (androids programmed to act) take the place of actors for daytime soaps! But actoid Jacie has developed a sense of humour and maybe the capacity for love – with chaotic consequences, when she meets a young writer who comes to work with jaded director Chandler Tate.
