Extra Information

  • Notes: It’s official. Doomsday is on 17th October. And again on the 18th in case you miss it the first time round. What’s more, it’s coming to Turvey! Some years ago, the poet Tony Harrison and the National Theatre created a unique piece of musical theatre. The celebrated cycle of Mystery Plays they produced were based on the medieval plays from Chester, Wakefield, Coventry and York, but presented in a distinctive, contemporary style. The result was pure spectacle, with sights such as Brian Glover as God the Master Builder, complete with hard hat, raised high above His creation by a fork lift truck. In January 2006, the first play in the cycle, The Nativity, was performed to a packed house in All Saints’ Church, Turvey by a cast and crew of local volunteers. The second play, The Passion, followed in 2007.It’s now time for the third and final play
