  • Notes: Impact Theatre Company is delighted to announce their next production “FAME”Fame the Musical is a comedy-drama set in New York City’s High School for Performing Arts. It follows a group of young music, dance and drama students over a time of four years between 1980 – 84. We see the students cope with Hard Work, disputes and fragile relationships as well as the usual problems that youth have to deal with. They are the last class to graduate from the landmark building on West 46th Street, and with the help of four dedicated teachers they are determined to reach their goals, whether they strive for Friendship, Love or Fame! The show will be staged from 18-21 March 2009 at the Arts Depot, Finchley.Impact are looking strong singers and dancers to fill the leading roles and in particular a for MALE actor to fill the role of Tyrone Jackson – A dyslexic hip hop dancer who comes from a lower income background. Shares a love-hate relationship with Iris whom he constantly argues with, despite this they eventually kiss and he realizes his true feelings towards her. Amanda Noar has worked extensively in theatre, television and film, both as an actress but also as a director/choreographer. Her theatre work includes Anita in West Side Story, both at Her Majesty’s Theatre London and on National Tour; Fields of Ambrosia at the Aldwych London; Chava in Fiddler on The Roof with Topol; Gypsy in Gypsy at The Grand Theatre Swansea; Claudine in Can Can at The Belgrade Theatre Coventry; Hunyak in Chicago at Leicester Haymarket; Godspell on National Tour; Rochula on National Tour; Sweet Charity, Cabaret, Once in a Lifetime and Flying Blind, all at The Forum Theatre Wythenshawe; and Hortense in The Boy Friend at the Prince Regent Farnborough. Amanda appeared as Becky in Filling in The Cracks at Manchester’s Comedy Store, and Jenny in Funk Face at the Arts Depot London, which she also directed.
