For an evening of entertainment, get along to the Queen’s Theatre to see Shenfield Operatic perform Fiddler on the Roof from 26th until 30th January 2010 at the Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch. With well-known songs such as ‘If I Were a Rich Man’, ‘Matchmaker’ and ‘Sunrise Sunset’, this is a production not to be missed!

Fiddler on the Roof is a musical set in a small Jewish Community in the village of Anatevka in 1905. A dairyman Tevye lives a simple life with his wife and 5 daughters. He follows the traditions set down by his ancestors, but finds his daughters are not so keen to follow them when the time comes to find suitable husbands. Tevye talks to God about his problems. His children are not his only worries however, for this is Tsarist Russia and for the Jewish community this means their very existence is balanced as precariously as a… Fiddler on the Roof.
