- Notes: Regarded as one of the most famous stage and film musicals, Fiddler on the Roof tells the memorable story of the dairyman Tevye and his family, who are attempting to live a normal life in early twentieth century Russia. Filled with Jewish traditions, this is the story of Tevye’s search for appropriate husbands for his three eldest daughters, set alongside the terrible pogroms against the Jewish people in Russia. Winner of 3 Academy Awards and 9 Tony Awards, the score includes such songs as “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “Sunrise, Sunset” and “To Life.”
