- Notes: Set in Victorian times and first produced in 1935, Manningham is slowly, deliberately driving his wife Bella insane by convincing her that she is losing her memory and sanity. He uses the gaslight in her rooms to make his wife believe that she is seeing hallucinations and suffering forgetfulness. Gaslight remains a popular classic thriller which keeps the audience glued to the edge of their seats.
