Extra Information

  • Notes: Cody Farnborough Operatic Society present:HMS Pinafore – the smash hit Australian adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan’s operetta.Princes Hall, Aldershot, 19th-24th March 2007This hilarious new adaptation takes HMS Pinafore into uncharted waters. Originally performed by the Australian Essgee theatre company, the addition of a number of songs (for example “A disagreeable man”) and some inspired changes to the libretto introducing Dick Deadeye in greater detail, make this a must see show. The action takes place on the Quarterdeck of “H.M.S. Pinafore,” 1878. The action starts just before Sir Joseph Porter, the first lord of the admiralty, comes aboard to claim the hand of the captain’s beautiful daughter, Josephine. She is in love with a common sailor and Captain Corcoran does not approve.Famous songs such as “I am the Captain of the Pinafore”, “Fair Moon”, “Never mind the why and wherefore” and many others still grace the score making this a comic musical feast for one and all.For more details go to http://www.cfaos.co.uk. Tickets from £11.00.
