In this award winning which premiered at the National Theatre in 2001 to rave reviews, Charlotte Jones creates a bitter – sweet comedy about a disintegrating family.

Thirty-five year old Felix Humble is a Cambridge astro-physicist in search of a unified field theory. Following the sudden death of his father, he returns to his middle England home and his difficult and demanding mother, where he soon realises that his search for unity must include his own chaotic home life.

This is one of those plays that you can enjoy on different levels. It is both moving and very funny with more than a hint of a Hamlet-like situation.

To Bee or not to Bee…………………

The play won the Susan Smith Blackburn Award in 2001 and in 2002 won awards as the Critics’ Circle Best New Play and the People’s Choice Best New Play.
