Coming to after a heavy night on the booze, Jeff finds himself locked inside the Coach and Horses, his Soho local. He settles down to drink, smoke and reminisce. A host of colourful characters appear to help him tell the tale of his life. This gloriously funny and poignant piece of theatre was created from Jeffrey Bernard’s contributions to the Spectator’s Low Life column. When Jeff was incapable of producing his column, the editor would print the apology – Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell.
