• Notes: Brilliantly contructed Keith Waterhouse play, with the west end production starring Peter O’Toole, then later Tom Conti and James Bolam – Having passed out in the loo, Jeff awakes in the early hours of the morning to find himself alone and in the dark. The spends the rest of the night with a bottle of vodka and an endless chain of cigarettes, narrating a story of hilarious anecdotes and witty reminiscences about his life in the gutter.
