VAMPS PRESENTS
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
A mean green alien plant will be arriving at the Priory Centre, St Neots, Cambridgeshire on Wednesday 14 April in preparation for his cunning plan to take over the world. Yes, the cult musical comedy-horror “Little Shop of Horrors” is coming to St Neots – thanks to local theatre group VAMPS. With the plant and set designed and built by a former puppet designer for the 80s TV series “Spitting Image” and a rocking score featuring numbers such as “Suddenly Seymour”, “Feed Me”, and “Little Shop of Horrors” the show promises to be a spectacular hit.
“Little Shop of Horrors” tells the story of down and out Skid Row floral assistant Seymour who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon “Audrey II” grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore offering him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite… but as Audrey II’s hungry demands increase, all that Seymour holds dear is threatened as the plant finally reveals itself to be an alien creature with a sinister agenda for global domination!
The show will run at the Priory Centre 14 – 17 April at 7.30 pm, plus 2.30 pm Saturday matinee. Tickets cost £10 (£9 concessions) and can be booked via the VAMPS’s website www.thevamps.co.uk or phone their box office 07866-224769. A small number of tickets are also available from the Priory Centre’s box office tel 01480-388922.
Little Shop of Horrors. Come and join VAMPS for this off beat tale of a love triangle between a loveable nerd, a ditzy blond with a heart of gold and a giant man-eating plant from outer space! www.thevamps.co.uk
