  • Notes: Written by Constance Cox and based on Oscar Wilde’s short story, this play has all you need for a great night’s entertainment. Meet Lord Arthur, who wants to marry Sybil, but Sybil’s dragaon of a mother doesn’t trust him. She hires a notorious cheiromantist, Podgers, to read Lord Arthur’s palm. Podgers tells Arthur that he will commit a murder, which Arthur feels duty bound to get over and done with before his marriage to Sybil… Enter the eccentric anarchist-inventor, Herr Winkelkopf. Add to this a faithful butler, Baines, some batty relatives to compound the issue and you have all the ingredients for an explosive comedy with a happy ending!
