- Notes: Map of the Heart by William Nicholson Production dates: 23rd, 24th and 25th October 2008This play, by the author of Shadowlands, is a moving and intelligent dissection of the human drama surrounding the decision of Albie, dissatisfied with his life, to turn his back on his home and family. He volunteers to go to the Sudan to assist his doctor friend, Mary, in a refugee camp. A chance happening then thrusts his relationships, and those of his family, into the glare of publicity.Focussing on the reactions of Albie’s wife Ruth and his daughter Sally, and the presence of his wife’s brother, Bernard, this is a thought provoking play, asking questions about the way we love today
