Both plays performed by the Strobes Group on Fri 3rd July & Sat 4th July 7.45 pm
Mugged
Every morning, a group of schoolkids meet up on their way to school and hang out on the benches in the park. And every morning they are faced with the same dilemma: take the short cut to school across the park and risk running into the muggers, or go the long way round and risk being late. Marky and Dig are the ones who get picked on most, not only by the muggers, but by the bigger boys who dominate the group hanging out on the benches.
When tragedy strikes the group are left to face their own grief and guilt as well as the assumptions and stereotypes of the public and the media which guide them. ‘Mugged’ in every sense of the word.
Feather Boy
A poignant story, told through narrative and song, using an ensemble cast with live music.
Robert is a boy who can do anything – or so old Edith Sorrel at the nursing home tells him. Robert doesn’t think so, knowing that he is the school geek. But something compels him to do what Edith asks. And through their unlikely friendship, they both find something which they had lost.
